Charlie McGuffin has an incredible secret… He can change into animals. All sorts of animals: a flea, a pigeon, even a rhino! Trouble is, he can’t decide when – it only happens when he gets worried. And right now, Charlie has quite a lot to worry about:
* His brother (who is in hospital)
* His parents (who are panicking about it)
* And the school bully (who has Charlie in his sights)
And even though every kid wants a superhero power, Charlie isn’t keen on changing into a chicken in the middle of the school play. So with the help of his three best friends, Charlie needs to find a way of dealing with his crazy new power – and fast!
‘Full of heart and humour, wit and wisdom, and rivers of rhino poo’ Sophie Anderson, author of The House with Chicken Legs

If you can’t make the event you can still pre-order a signed copy of this fantastic book.

Matt Carr – Rocketmole

Come and meet Matt Carr and hear his brand new story. Get a book signed at this free event. Please email the shop to book a place.

A brave and bold new picture book by Matt Carr, perfectly timed for the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. Meet the mole on a mission! Armstrong the star-nosed mole doesn’t dig living underground.

His friends think building a rocket to go to the moon, alone, is an astronomically bad idea, but Armstrong is determined to boldly go where no mole has gone before. On the moon, Armstrong bounces around in his space suit, but soon starts to miss his cautious mole mates. How can a mole with big dreams have it all: adventure AND friendship?

Super Duper fun with Sophy Henn

Look at our SUPER DUPER new window display!

We had super duper fun with Book Nook favourite, author and illustrator Sophy Henn. She read her new book Super Duper You to a rapt audience and then gave a masterclass in illustrating emotions. Lots of cutting and sticking fun followed with a visor-making workshop.

Hi-fives to everyone who came along to enjoy the fun and huge thanks to Super Duper Sophy.
