With over eleven years experience in providing children’s books to schools across the South of England, we are now able to offer discounted resources online as well as from the shop.

Our specialist and extensive knowledge as well as input from Literacy Advisors enables teachers to purchase quality texts to fulfil their range of needs.

Requests for topic related books are increasing each term due to schools needing a reliable, informative and cost effective service. To make this process easier, requests and packs can now be made and purchased online or by contacting the shop.

We can provide and source books for a range of needs and abilities including:

  • Replenishing and updating libraries

Ordering and Discounts:

The Book Nook can order any books or spoken word CDs currently in print and offer friendly and informed advice. As a local business, we also offer school discounts. Please contact us by email:

Book covers can be included for a small extra charge. It should only take up to 10 working days for your order to be processed and delivered. If your order is urgent we will deliver it within 3 days, subject to availability.

Author visits – a wonderful way to encourage children to read.

We have organised and planned many author visits, many of which have been publicised in local newspapers, including Rick Riordan (author of the Percy Jackson series), Liz Pichon (author of the Tom Gates series), Chris Bradford (author of The Young Samurai series), Steven Lenton (illustrator of the Nothing to See Here Hotel series) Chris Riddell and Paul Stewart (The Edge Chronicles), Emily Gravett, Lauren ChildCressida CowellJeremy Strong and Simon Bartram (Man on the Moon). Book fairs – we run it, offer a wide range of books and 15% of sales in books to your school!

To help promote reading at home we can hold one of our popular book fairs. We will spend the day with you and your children talking about books and encouraging a love of reading. We offer a wide selection of books and can also reflect your current curriculum. If you are holding a book week or just want a general stall we can organise this for you. 15% of any sales will be donated to the school in books of your choice.

FREE Reviews keeping your school informed of new literature

To ensure your staff is aware of the latest book releases which can be used as new resources for curriculum topics, we can present highlights at staff meetings and INSET days – please discuss this with either Julie or Vanessa to book a date.
