Every Wednesday @ 10am: TODDLER STORY TIME

Bring your little ones in from some gentle stories, a play in the pirate ship, and maybe have a coffee in the Little Nook Café! All welcome!

Every Friday during term time @ 10am: STORY, STAY & PLAY

Every Friday morning from 10am – 10:45 during term time. Join us for a cosy session, including a story. Toys will be provided for children to play with.

Tickets are £2.50 per child, and will include a child’s hot drink and 10% off any purchased book. You can purchase a ticket for next Friday 19th April here.

Limited to 6 children per session.

*The café will be closed to anyone not attending the stay & play during this time.*

Watch out for our festival window by Steven Lenton coming soon!

Steven Lenton will be popping by the shop to decorate our window with his gorgeous illustrations to celebrate the 2024 Brighton Festival.

AUTHOR EVENT: Collage and crafts with ROSEMARY CLUNIE and Serena and the Little Blue Dog

Join acclaimed artist Rosemary Clunie to recreate the illustrations from her debut children’s book Serena and the Little Blue Dog in collage.

BRIGHTON FESTIVAL: Children’s Illustration Exhibition

In celebration of the wealth of talented children’s book illustrators in Brighton, Hove and close by, we will be exhibiting a selection of their work at the Book Nook throughout the 2024 Brighton Festival.

Stop by the shop to browse the artwork! We’ll also be at all the Festivals’ Young Readers events, have a look at what’s on here.

AUTHOR EVENT: Drawing workshop with ZEHRA HICKS

Join author and illustrator Zehra Hicks for a monstrous drawing workshop and a chance to meet the characters of her new books Watch Out! There’s A Monster Coming – written by Karl Newson – and Panda & Penguin Find A Thing.

AUTHOR EVENT: Interactive reading of Colossal Words for Kids with COLETTE HILLER

Learn some big words without even trying! Discover Colossal Words for Kids — from meander to voracious — all defined in an entertaining rhyme.

Throughout the reading, children will be invited to  move,  shout, and act out  the new words they’ve learned.  Suitable for 7+. Please book here.

AUTHOR EVENT: Meet A Fairy Called Fred with ROBERT TREGONING

Put on your fairy wings and fly to Fairyland with Robert Tregoning, author of Out of the Blue and A Fairy Called Fred. 

Fred works at the Wish Granting Plant and now you can too! When wishes arrive in the form of letters, can you use your imagination and design skills to make those wishes come true?
